JAY TECH,Everything for surface treatment

M/W Plating : It is an electro plating aimed to reduce production cost by Ni-B alloy plating on mold surfaces to prolong life of mold.

What is a mold?

It is a mold used in the process whereby liquid state of steel turns to solid.

M/W Plating

It is an electro plating aimed to reduce production cost by Ni-B alloy plating to mold surfaces to prolong life of mold.

Features of M/W Plating

  • Allows high hardness and thick plating
  • No thermal breakage due to high melting point
  • Has good lubricity under high temperature and is effective in underpart abrasion as its abrasion loss is 1/5 of Ni plating
  • Can prevent splash
  • Not required to strengthen adhesion to undercoat
  • Can adjust property such as hardness according to directions of casting and plating

Purpose of Plaiting on Mold

Recently production volume of crude steel using continuous casting is on rapid increase out of total domestic production of crude steel. Amid faster casting speed and more diverse materials in step with increase of production, width changeable technique is needed to alter size of products during casting. So, conditions of mold become worse to use, causing severe damage to plates. For this reason, it aims to reduce cost by M/W plating on this mold and minimized loss to plates.

Feature of Abrasion Resistance of M/W

Feature of Requirements of Mold Plating Layers

Temperature of plate, thermal shock resistance, abrasion resistance, good adhesion, easy control of property, Moldwin plating
